Joelle grew up dancing Ballet, Tap and Jazz and taking every opportunity to act within her local theatre group Creative Theatre Company. In 2004 she joined Momentum, the contemporary dance company in residence at the Ariel Centre, Devon.

She then went on to study at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance, graduating in 2009 with the Outstanding Achievement Award.  During her studies she worked with choreographers Henrietta Hale, Kwesi Johnson, Gavin Coward and Kate Jackson, and assisted Wendy Houstoun with her intergenerational commission "Dancing in Time" for Dansopolis. Having majored in dance education she made a site-specific dance film with A-level students, in collaboration with a composer and a film-maker.  

In 2009-10 she toured Europe with NSCD's PG Company Verve, pieces by international choreographers; David Zambrano, Laïla Diallo, Luis lara Malvacias, Kathinka Walter and Michael Schumacher.

Since leaving Verve Joelle has worked with the following choreographers:

Vinicius Salles, Fleur Darkin, Benjamin Millepied, Jennifer Essex, Rebeca Fernandez Lopez (Bottlefed) Mary Hurrell, Di Mainstone, Hollie Miller and Becky Walker (The Arch of Starch), Marquez and Zangs, Mary Eddowes (Pestiferous), Katarzyna Witek and Roberta Jean.

And had featured acting roles in:

Call the Midwife- BBC, Fortitude- Sky Atlantic, Hoff the Record- Dave UKTV, Sherlock- BBC, Mr Selfridge -ITV, Humans- Channel 4 & Xbox and The Honourable Woman BBC.

Having always enjoyed a challenge, Joelle has had the opportunity to work on many interesting theatrical roles from a 70’s schizophrenic whore for Vinicius Salles to the female Hoff in Dave Channel's new comedy series Hoff The Record.

Amongst her most recent choreography she has been working on a series of dance films for a new media platform for android phones.
