As a filmmaker and photographer I endeavour to make visually engaging and thought provoking work.

Film: Having had the opportunity to work with a diverse and international range of choreographers and companies I strive to create photography and film that go beyond documentation to deliver a cinematic perspective on stage, studio and site-specific dance.

Having originally trained as a dancer and choreographer I have found this knowledge of movement enables me to film in a way that intimately immerses the viewer within the frame.

I have always had a fascination with film and began exploring this whilst training at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, collaborating on short films with fellow students and choreographing and directing a site-specific dance film with A-level students during a teaching placement.

I then took a Filmmaking Foundation at The London Film Academy and began teaching at Fitzrovia Youth in Action leading filmmaking and journalism workshops on events and subjects chosen by the young people.

I have been fortunate enough to regularly collaborate with choreographers and companies such as Sally Marie- Sweetshop RevolutionMarie Ronold MathisenNKM media and Elisabeth Connor as well as working with organisations such as London Dance.

Photography:

I initially took an A level in Photography and have worked as a stills photographer on film sets and theatres along with commissions for choreographers and musicians. See gallery below.

After an initial research period at Choreodrome and the discovery there was no Punch Drunk for kids, I became interested in making an interactive children's work. I wanted to enable the children to become a part of the magic and allow everyone to be able to interact with elements of the lighting, sound and video to shape the piece together. Based on a simple narrative around water states, the interactive elements enable the audience to fully immerse themselves in the creation of the fairytale; For example there will be movement-triggered sensors to generate a thunder storm near the end of the work. What follows is a brief insight into our two week research period with five dancers funded by the Arts Council and supported by South East Dance and Dance East. We want to take the project into production as soon as possible and so are looking for partners to come on board. Do get in contact if you are interested.
